Thank you to all those parents who attended the PTA meeting on Wednesday the 22 March. Planning for our Big Walk, scheduled to take place on Saturday the 8th April, took place. Discussions also cantered around ideas for other PTA events for the rest of the year. Our PTA serve such an important role in our school by not only fundraising, but also to bring into closer relationship the home and the school, for the benefit of the children. The child is at the centre of everything parents and teachers do.
Please read the accompanying document which gives details of the Big Walk and the role that parents can play in assisting us to once again have a very enjoyable and worthwhile morning. Our annual Big Walk is always such a lovely family affair and friends and neighbours are also invited!!!
Thank you to all parents who completed and returned their IQAA Parent Survey forms. These have been sent to the IQAA head office where they will be analysed and trends and opinions highlighted. Any issues resulting from these will be the topic for discussion in focus groups. IQAA is the Independent Quality Assurance Agency which provides quality assurance through the evaluation of schools. Their watchword is “assisting schools to keep growing quality.” Japari was a Pilot School for the IQAA Evaluation process in 2005. We were last evaluated in 2011.
A vast array of wonderful science experiments were on display today as our budding Scientists showed us the scientific principles behind their experiments. Judges had a very difficult time trying to decide the winners as all who took part are definitely winners!!!!! Some budding scientists were a bit over eager and had completed their experiments/ demonstrations before the judges could see them!!! This was not a problem as they could in most cases redo for the judges.
A huge thank you to all the dads/ moms and family members who came out to support their children. Another huge thank you to Mrs Maryna Engel and all the Junior teachers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure today was both successful and enjoyable!!!!
