One of our Grade 7 pupils stood up and gave a speech that we will remember forever. Our pupil said it with such passion and zest for life.
The speech goes as follows:
“I came to Japari feeling nervous because I had been in a mainstream school before. The Journey at the mainstream school was rough and it was tough for my parents and I. I struggled with most of my subjects at the mainstream school because I couldn’t bring myself to understand the concepts of the subjects.
But Japari changed it all for me. With the support of my teachers, my parents and even my friends, I began to understand most, if not all concepts in subjects like Mathematics. In fact, Mathematics became my favourite subject.
They say Japari is a small school. Ladies and gentlemen, there is nothing small about this school. There is nothing small about preparing young children like myself for the lifelong journey of schooling. There is nothing small about building that foundation. There is nothing small about this school at all!
I’d like to give thanks to my parents for their support, for their patience and for their love during my primary school career. I’d like to give thanks to the teachers for encouraging us learners for the past few years. I am now a confident student because of them. I’d like to thank my friends for being there for me, therefore I value your friendship.
I’m going to really miss this school as I set on a new journey back to mainstream school. I will always carry the Japari flag high wherever I go.
Thank you for allowing me to share my wonderful journey at Japari.”
